Day 1: Arequipa – Chivay – Condor Cross – San Juan de Chuccho – Sangalle Oasis:

  • Hotel pick-up begins between 2:45 a.m. and 3:15 a.m. from accommodations located within Arequipa's Historic Center.
  • At approximately 7:00 a.m., we will arrive in Chivay, where you will enjoy a basic breakfast before continuing the journey.
  • Along the way, we will make stops at the Antahuilque Viewpoint, where you can admire the impressive pre-Inca agricultural terraces and the stunning landscapes of the Colca Valley.
  • Next, we will visit the Condor Cross (Cruz del Cóndor), the most famous viewpoint in the Colca Canyon. Here, you will have time to watch the majestic flight of the Andean condor and appreciate the breathtaking depth of one of the world's deepest canyons.
  • We will then continue to Pampa San Miguel, the starting point of our trek. From here, we begin a descent of approximately 4 hours along traditional canyon trails until we reach the village of San Juan de Chuccho, where we will enjoy a homemade lunch prepared by a local family.
  • After a short break, we will continue hiking for about 3 more hours, passing through small villages and ancient agricultural terraces before arriving at the beautiful Sangalle Oasis, a lush paradise surrounded by vegetation. Here, you can relax and enjoy the swimming pools.
  • In the evening, we will have dinner and spend the night in shared bungalow accommodations.

Day 2: Sangalle Oasis – Cabanaconde – Chacapi Hot Springs – Chivay – Arequipa:
  • At approximately 4:30 a.m., we will begin the ascent from the oasis to Cabanaconde. The hike takes around 3 to 4 hours, depending on the group's pace and the participants' physical condition.

  • We will then head to the Chacapi Hot Springs, where you will have approximately one hour to relax in the natural thermal waters (optional entrance fee).
  • Afterward, we will continue to Chivay, where you will have free time for lunch.
  • Finally, we will begin our journey back to Arequipa, making stops at the Patapampa Viewpoint (4,910 m / 16,109 ft), also known as the Viewpoint of the Andes, where you can admire the surrounding volcanoes, and at the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, home to vicuñas, alpacas, and llamas.
