ITINERARY:
✅ Day 1:
- 2:45 – 3:00 am: Hotel/hostel (downtown) or main square pick-up. 2.5-hour private transfer to "La Bruja" Viewpoint (4900 m). Includes a traditional “Pago a la Pachamama” ceremony.
- 6:20 am: AGOTREK Viewpoint, overlooking pre-Inca terraces and the western Andes, near the highest and most remote source of the Amazon River.
- 6:40 am: Continue by vehicle to Cruz del Cóndor Viewpoint.
- 7:20 am: Brief 10–20 minute stop at this popular viewpoint.
- 7:40 am: Picnic buffet breakfast with an incredible view near Tapay Viewpoint (5 mins away).
- 8:30 am: Stop at Tapay Viewpoint to enjoy condor sightings and the canyon’s landscapes.
- 9:00 am: Arrive at Pampa San Miguel, the starting point for the hike. Preparation and trekking briefing.
- 9:30 am: Begin descent hike through rocky, dirt paths (1–2 meters wide) with stunning canyon views and basalt formations.
- 12:30 pm: Cross a suspension bridge to reach San Juan de Chuccho. Enjoy a traditional lunch in a local family home.
- 2:00 pm: Begin the second stage of hiking (7 km) with gentle ascents and descents (max 400 m elevation gain/loss).
- 5:00 pm: Arrive at the Sangalle Valley (2200 m) – time to relax in the pool (cold water) and check in at the eco-lodge.
- 7:00 pm: Dinner and overnight stay.
✅ Day 2:
- 5:00 am (approx.): Begin the challenging ascent hike on a rocky slope (1100 m elevation gain) on trails 0.80 to 2 meters wide.
- 8:00 am: Reach Sejana (top of the slope). After a short break, continue to Cabanaconde village for a well-deserved breakfast.
- 9:20 am: End of the trek. Travel by vehicle to Yanque.
- 10:20 am: Visit La Chimpa hot springs (water temperature between 30°C – 50°C, 1 hour).
- 11:20 am: Continue to a countryside family restaurant.
- 1:20 pm: Return to Arequipa, passing through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, observing South American camelids in their natural habitat.
- 5:00 pm (approx.): Arrival at Arequipa city center.
